It is said that if you remember your dream, it’s for a reason. Your subconscious implants it so you recall it first thing when you wake up. Or you will remember at a specific moment, it will just come to you. You might not understand why you dreamed what you did, but you will have glimpses of what you experienced during your nighttime travels to the subconscious.
The subconscious speaks in symbolism. Symbolism is our first language. We see an image and relate it to what makes sense in our brains. Whatever our interpretation of that image may be. Your internal dialogue is just that. Images, sounds, feelings. Your body is experiences life through all of your senses, so your subconscious comes as that quiet voice from within. We are constantly experiencing different stages of consciousness. Of awareness. Whether you are bright eyed wide awake, in trance zoning out aware or unaware, or if you are just about to fall asleep. Maybe you are under the influence of something. It’s all levels of consciousness. You can be awake in a dream state. It just takes practice. Your awareness matters. If you go to sleep at night with the intention of dreaming. You will. You’re setting your brain up to do what you want. Creating actions from thought. And creating new habits with your subconscious will help you to better understand each other.
I’ve had very vivid dreams that have followed me my whole life. Reoccurring people or images that are just as real today as they were when I first dreamed them as a child. All symbols telling a story. When I started to awaken to my subconscious patterning, I would be asleep and wake up swearing someone was telling me to wake up. I could hear her voice, but it would be instantly gone once a woke up. I thought she was telling me to wake up from sleep, but it was so much deeper than that. She was telling me to wake up from the waking sleep; from the spell I put myself under. She was telling me to wake up from the matrix of this world and the thoughts that were not mine. She wanted me to wake up to me. Spirit reaches out to you in dreams. Your subconscious talks to you.
After I had my spiritual awakening, one of my first dreams was me walking through a lobby of a huge, beautiful hotel. My husband and children walking beside me. I’m following a woman through hallways, and she takes me to a hall of doors. I asked her where I should go, and she motioned, smiled, and said anywhere. I reached for the door in front of me and each one of my family members reached for their doors. I felt excitement. Then I woke.
Then I dreamed walking to the front door of my house and opening it to find a giant river of rushing water right out front of my yard. I thought about jumping in it but hesitated and thought how would I get back. Then I heard a voice say why would you want to come back? You can go anywhere.
My dreams kept showing me different scenes, but they all had one thing in common. I was being guided to do something. I felt the urge to make a change. To decide what do I want out of life. How do I want to experience this world right now. And what doors am I willing to go through to get it. The universe demands a sacrifice. The old you. If you want to change you have to be willing to change. I knew I wanted to be free of my inner demons. I knew I wanted to live a life with purpose and freedom. But I had to be willing to give up the thoughts and beliefs that were holding me back to find the mindset of who I can become.
Now I welcome my dreams. I can’t wait to see what they are trying to tell me. It’s like a personal puzzle made just for me. And I find the more I focus on dreaming with the intention of learning and remembering, I do. It’s just creating a new habit. A new way of living. A new way of listening to your spirit.
